A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 10:30 A. M. Wednesday ~ New Hebron Baptist Church, 6732 N. 1075th Street, Robinson, Illinois.

James L. “Jim” Weaver Sr., 70, rural Oblong, Illinois passed away at 7:18 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Robinson, Illinois on May 28, 1942, he was the son of William Henry Weaver and Bonnie Ellen (Rich) Weaver. On September 3, 1959, he married Barbara Ann Matheney, who survives. Jim was a caster at the Briggs Pottery, Robinson, Illinois for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the New Hebron Baptist Church, New Hebron, Illinois; and the Crawford County Coon Club. Jim raised coon dogs; loved coon hunting; horse barrel racing; car racing; he was an avid NASCAR fan; playing golf and talking on the CB radio. Jim loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. The family always did things as a family. Jim’s motto was “if the kids weren’t allowed there – he shouldn’t be there”.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbara Weaver; a daughter, Jamie Mullins; three sons and daughters-in-law, James L. “Jim” Weaver Jr. & wife Lisa, Bryan & Michele Weaver and Brent A. & Angie Weaver; eight grandchildren, Christopher Mullins, Joshua Mullins, Justin Weaver, Jessica & Emery Waggoner, Andrew Weaver, Rusty & Kasi Weaver, Elizabeth & Micheal Lynch and Joseph Weaver; nine great-grandchildren, Clayton Weaver, Landon Weaver, Blake Roberts, Bentley Waggoner, Les Weaver, Morgan Weaver, Lilliana Lynch, Kaylen Lynch and Jaley Lynch; one brother, Gary Weaver and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Billy, Floyd and Wilmer Weaver.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, North of Palestine, Illinois.
